About me

I am 63 years old and have lived in Tenterden for 35 years.

Professionally I am a registered chiropodist and podiatrist. I have worked in Tenterden for 30 years alongside my husband Bill who is an osteopath and acupuncturist. My parents have lived in Tenterden for about 20 years.

I have a keen interest in local affairs and am actively involved in the community helping with various events. My voluntary work with the local Chamber of Commerce from 2010-2016 often found me out and about helping with events such as Christmas Late Night Shopping. During the Jubilee year I spent many happy hours on the High Street with the Union Jack “bunting gang” putting up the flags and bunting in readiness for the Queen’s Jubilee and the Olympics. We were so proud of the High Street that year.

I was elected to Tenterden Town Council in 2013 and have been actively involved with Council matters since then. I continue my interest in the community and am very passionate in helping residents find out What's On in and around Tenterden.

I manage the My Tenterden website which these days is a huge undertaking, the Tenterden Twitter account and the Facebook account for businesses and the community. Now added to this is the My Tenterden Instagram account . I also send out a regular community email newsletter and help to update the Tenterden App.

Although I am heavily involved with promoting Tenterden online, I do appreciate that not everyone is on the Internet and so believe that newsletters, noticeboards and talking to people are just as important. I look after the community side of the Town Hall noticeboard.

My husband Bill is a Rotarian so all in all we have a very busy life.
